Home Remedies For Dark Circles Under The Eyes

Hello everyone, like I promised, today I will be sharing some tips on how to use some natural ingredients to clear up dark circles under the eyes. Yes, you can do it at home, they are safer and more effective.

Dark circles around the eyes can be embarrassing and doesn’t do justice to the face at all. Causes could be heredity, aging, working long hours on the computer, stress, sunburn, lack of sleep etc . What ever the cause may be, some home remedies can help this look a lot better. Below are some recommended home remedies, Try any one or two to know which one works for you.

1. Potato and cucumber
Potato is a mild natural bleaching agent, therefore it is one of the best home remedies for dark circles. Cucumber on the other hand not only helps in removing the dark circles and under eye bags, but also soothes your eyes.
With your eyes close cover your eyelids with slices of raw potato or cucumber for 15-20 minutes. You can also grate the potato or cucumber, then apply juice on the eyelid with a cotton wool. Leave for 15 minutes , wash and moisturize.


2. Almond Oil
Almond helps to remove dark circles and is an excellent “skin food”. Gently massage almond oil over the eyes, leave it overnight. This helps a lot.

3. Cucumber and Lemon Juice
Extract cucumber juice and add one or two drops of lemon juice. With a cotton wool apply the mixture on the black circles 2 times a day. Lemon has brightening properties so it can help to get rid of the dark pigmentation around the eyes. However it could be harsh on sensitive skin especially around the eyes, so precautions should be taken; use very small amount and use juice extracted from ripe lemon.

4. Tomatoes
Tomatoes is enriched with vitamin A, it naturally helps in lightening the color of the skin. Mix 1 teaspoon of tomato juice with few drops of  lemon juice and apply it under your eyes. Leave for about 10 minutes. Wash off and moisturize.


5. Orange Juice
Orange contains vitamin C which also have brightening properties. Mix some orange juice with a few drops of glycerine and apply this mixture over the dark circles. It will diminish the dark circles and will also provide a natural glow to the area around your eyes.


6. Rose Water
Rose water have a soothing effect on the eyes and it will also rejuvenate the skin around the eyes. This particular remedy can completely remove the dark circles if applied twice daily for a few weeks. Apply with cotton wool and leave for about 20 minutes.


7. Turmeric
Studies has shown that Turmeric can help remove dark circles and also help to smoothen around the eyes area, it has anti-oxidant properties. Take turmeric powder and mix it with pineapple juice to make a thick paste. Apply this paste to the affected area and leave for about ten minutes. Wash off and moisturize.


Other Useful tips
– Practice good and healthy eating habit, take food consisting of fruits and vegetables.

– Drink at least ten glasses of water everyday.

– Eight hours of sleep is a must for all of us, especially for people having dark circles.
